I don't know if my "standard alg" for this case is the one most people use but I have used it since 1981 when I first found it. It is a bit like Niklas and goes like this:

(x') U' R2 U' L2 U R2 U' L2 U2 (x)

There is also the inverse case:

(x') U2 L2 U R2 U' L2 U R2 U (x)

But now I found I can use my alg (commutator) for big cube wing edges also for this case, I just have to change r and l to R and L (well, L is here a double turn) and it is much faster than my old alg:

l' R' D2 R U2 R' D2 R U2 l

The alg actually solves the mirror case of the first one but it does not matter as long as it is not a ZBLL case you are solving, for those use also the mirror =)

The inverse case:

l' U2 R' D2 R U2 R' D2 R l

The same algs are also useful for CLL, MCLL and ZB (as I said above).

BTW: I really miss a "collectoin of COLL's". Can't we start one?

That's much better than the one I've used so far. I used the one from cubewhiz and this particular case was my very worst COLL:

(R' U2) (R F U') (R' U' R U) F'

I think a COLL collection would be very nice.

It's possibly because I always forget it when the case comes up. Then I've grown to dislike it.

Now that I'm refreshing it it's not half bad, hmm...

for your first case (the two top layer stickers facing outwards) :

r U R' U' L' U R U'
or
x' U' R' U L' U' R U L

for your second case (the two top layer stickers facing forward) :
R2 D' R U2 R' D R U2 R
(I'm actually executing it as R2 z' R' U L2 U' R U L2 U z)
or this one I think is same, just execution ends upside down :
l2 U' R D2 R' U R D2 R

Sorry Pete but those algs only orient the corners, this is COLL so we like them to also permute the corners to their correct positions. The algs you have given are the ones I use for the cases were permutation is like that.

But thank's anyway :)

oh sorry, this is so confusing, i thought COLL stands for "corner orient. last layer"

ok, so what category those algs belong to (when they just orient Corners without affecting orientation and permutation of edges) ? is it OLLC then ?

this particular case was my very worst COLL:

(R' U2) (R F U') (R' U' R U) F'
I really like that alg. But for those who don't like F, just use a different ce-pair 3-cycle:

R' U2 R U L U2 R' U' R U2 L'

COLL = corners of last layer. That name is wery wrong, should be CPOLL or something like that. The name COLL is old and hard to change because it's what everybody use.

I don't think anybody uses a method that orients corners and preserves edge permutation and orientation and there is no common name for that method either.

OCLL is used for algs that orient corners (Orientation of Corners of the Last Layer)

COLL is (I think) Corners and Orientation of the Last Layer.

I used to consider COLL "corner orientation on the last layer." Most often this involves keeping edges oriented, 'cause thats not too hard for such algs.

But everybody is learning "COLL," so it's become difficult to communicate well...
I'm using OCLL for the 7-case set now...

Anyhow, I don't plan on learning COLL anytime soon...

How about OotLLCwiPapEO?

It seems every thread on COLL turns to this...
I have never come come across a website with algs labeled COLL that weren't Orienting and permuting the corners of the last Layer while retaining the orientation of the edges.
