Hello,

I've been using badmephisto's videos as a guide to learn intuitive F2L.

Well, I get all the concepts, but I'm having trouble implementing them.

It takes me ages to actually find the squares I need, and for the few cases where you have a finished pair and have to insert, I have to really think hard about which way I gotta turn it.

So my questions are,

1. About how long will it take if I'm cubing a lot each day, to get better. My goal is to break 1m, as I'm aorund 1:20 using beginners method with slight improvements.

2. Whats the best way to learn to find the pieces? Should I be turning my cube, or try to go from one angle?

3. Is it possible to do full turns (like without fingertricks) and get decent times? If not, I'll have to wait til the end of the month to get some type C cubes. I only have a storebought one right now.

Thanks,
Zarakava.

just keep at it and you'll learn in no time, never ever use a storebought cube, either wait to get that diy to learn finger tricks or lube up you storebought and practice finger tricks to get ready for your diy ... by the way, i actually learned intuitive f2l from youtube.com/kippy33's videos, i thought they were better than badmephisto's ... then i eventually went vid to vid to find more ways to insert pairs ... good luck

1. Definition of a lot? If you practice a good amount (20 solves a day sounds about right), you should be under a minute within 1-3 weeks.

2. Practice looking at a pair, and while solving it, look for the next pair. This is called "lookahead"

3. What is "decent" to you? You can definitely get sub-minute without fingertricks, perhaps even sub-40.

at least 20+.

All I've been doing recently is cubing and playing Phoenix Wright...

and sub-1m is really what I wanna hit right now.

Also, I've just been practicing F2L by doing cross, then F2L then rescrambling.

Should I solve the whole thing or keep going this way.

keep practising F2L and keep lookahaed. Try to prevent cube rotations by learning some super easy algorythms like sladgehammers (am i right with this word???)

and try to get your cross in max 7 - 10 moves (u need max 8 moves to solve a cross)

What LL technique are u using?

and i would also that a little look onto Keyhole method. it can be useful while solving F2L.

I don't know the method name for my LL.

But I first get the cross on LL, then corners correct, then fix corners.
