I was messing around with my cube and found this and was wondering if it might be a feasible f2l alg. use F2,U',D,R2,M on a solved cube....
it kind of does a three cycle with the middle layer edges while leaving one in the right place.
Do you think this has any possible way to help in f2l times (I know it not true f2l because it is not simultaneous but you get the idea)

PlEASE DON'T FLAME!!!
it was just a thought. I have found a couple ups and downs to it and I just wanted your opinion on it

thanks,
Me

P.S. I'm new here so hi

M? do you mean F2 U' D R2 D' ?

Well, you're basically never going to get that exact situation. It can be useful if you see one edge that needs to go to another slot that already has a correct corner. Like if the front left corner were solved and the FR edge needed to go to the left slot with the same orientation. Even in this case, you don't need to worry about the front right corner being solved, because the slot isn't going to get solved anyway. Mess around with it, it could be useful in certain cases, but don't expect to find that exact 3-cycle in a normal solve because you'll be wasting some time just trying to see if you have it when you don't.

Playing around with this sort of thing is good for building up intuitive cube sense. A lot of the "advanced" tricks out there make use of half-turns like this, and they always mess with my head because of the orientation flips.

If you write it as F2 E' F2 E it's more intuitive what's actually happening. I think it would be hard to recognize as a "case"...more likely you'd do this sort of thing to grab a single edge and treat the other slots as empty.

Here's one that does something similar, but with only two slots: F2 U2 F2 U2 F2

I was not trying to say look for it badmephisto, just maybe if it was easy to set up do this instead. so does it have any use at all now? nice panda by the way =D

Yes it does... it can be somewhat useful and you can use it, but you won't encounter the exact situation and shouldn't spend your time trying to set it up. If you want to use this alg during f2l it should really only be to put one edge in over a correct corner, so just be aware of which way and how the edges are cycled and you will be able to use it in a few *very few* situations.

And unknown soul, when you quote something it counts as characters so you really don't need to put "message too short"... it looks kind of silly.
