So I'm reporpusing this thread. I'll post here my experiences with alg learning, what tools I'm using, what I learned that day and what I'll learn next.

I hope we can encourage one another to learn algs and recommend sets and share our general experiences with alg learning, post videos, etc.

I know this might be asked lots of times before but I think this thread would be a good place to discuss.

So, what you guys found is a good way to learn sets of algs? How many can you learn a day and what tools you use?

My main problem is to feel that I'm not using my time efficiently with alg learning. sometimes I'm just not certain that I'm directing my energy the right way by learning algs and just don't learn as many as I want. if you have tips on motivation and goals post here too

I've learned various alg sets, and I'm currently in the process of learning full ZBLL.

Trainers are crucial. I use Tao Yu's trainer which helps me train more efficiently.

This is how I learn an alg set.

1) Learn a couple algs. Usually I for me 2-4. (See how the pairs move, notice triggers, simplify the alg or parts of the alg into commutators/conjugates, recognize destroy-and-repairing, etc.)
2) Train those algs, as well as the other algs in the set I've learned.
3) If I forget an alg, I force myself to try to remember. If still I can't remember then I look it up.
4) Keep training until I feel pretty confident with all of the algs I'm training. Both the ones I'm learning and the ones I've already learned.
5) Take a small break (like 5 minutes) then repeat from 1. This break is important, trust me.

I currently learn around 0-15 ZBLL algs per day.

nice. my goal is to learn 0 zblls a day too

Even having my own progression thread (and other people too) let's see if it works having a general algorithm log thread.

So...

today I practiced just a little of COLL. I learned only triple sune recognition and drilled the algs I knew with cstimer.

Tomorrow after work I plan to keep drilling COLL algs I know and learn new L COLLs

I have to work on COLL recognition too. I can only recognize U and T with fixed position (twisted corners on B, recognize stickers on front and up layer)
sometimes i'll do U2, recognize, U2, alg

But I'll get there...

L COLLs: top stickers: 2 same, 2 opp, 2 adj
must. learn.

this section of the wiki is helping me a lot: https://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/CxLL
I'm using chome extension nifty windows https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/niftysplit/bkmjnlfillpnkgmjnhgklpjjlpjnfeil

it's very confortable to learn this way
also www.speedcubedb.com to filter most algs

Learning Mehta EOLE, have learnt full T ZBLL(72 algs) in 6 days and I use algdrill.jonatanklosko.com to drill algs(For ZBLL I used bestsiteever.ru/zbll). I learn one set of algs per day(usually 4-12 algs, depends on the algset I learn) and drill them.

I chose all my algs for L COLL already.
I got 4 of them down, just have to associate recognition with alg.
The last 2 are weird commutators and I feel I'll have a bad time not confusing it with U COLLs as they are reverse / mirrors of each other

Ahh the comm cases are always confusing.
