My Eastsheen 2x2 and 4x4 feels really different from each other. I bought both at DC from Mitchell. They sound the same. They are both really loose. But The 4x4 seems more stable that the 2x2. I often lock up on the 2x2. It doesn't happen with the 4x4. In fact, scrambling the 4x4 as a 2x2, I'm about 0.5-2 seconds faster than on the actual 2x2. (about 12 seconds average). One of the reasons is that the 2x2 gets +2 penalty lots of times. It also locks up on the permutation. I can't execute the one layer adj swap and other layer diag swap very fast. It gets stuck on the 2x2, but not on the 4x4. (R'UR'B2RU'R) and all it's reflections. Why? The 4x4 has more give and it is smoother, but doesn't get +2. Both are not lubed. Should I try lubing the 2x2? Because I sucked at 2x2 (learned Ortega the night before), I didn't notice.

Pointing out the obvious does not solve the problem. Why is the 4x4 doing better as a 2x2 than the actual 2x2 itself?
Any way to make the 2x2 more stable? It feels too much like a famwealth cube.

Yes, I have an Eastsheen 2x2, and it locked up a lot. Then, my friend lubricated it with silicone, and it turns MUCH better. After a few days, my Eastsheen was very good at cutting corners, and it turned VERY fast (too fast LOL). If you want to lubricated it with silicone, spray for like half a second, or it'll spin too fast (like mine :().

My 4x4 locks up A LOT. It's pretty smooth and fast. I don't play with it too much, so.... yeah.... My 2x2 turns WAY better though (my 4x4 is not lubricated).

I bought my 2x2 and 4x4 from Mitchell too. The same thing happens with them too. And when I was scrambling the cubes at the table, Mitchell and Bob's cubes feels a lot different than mine...

I don't know. It's actually pretty weird because I have 2 friends who have E2's and I also have one but they don't lock up much. Broken in much?
