I recently got a 4x4 and still haven't managed to solve it yet :(

I wondered what methods people are using and what they have found is easiest to learn.

I have tried using the method which solves the centre pieces and then forms edge pairs, but I always get stuck at the last pair and don't know what to do.
If anyone has any advice or tips, I would be very happy.

the simplest way I can think of to solve edges on a 4x4 ( works for all big cubes) is to solve them "one at a time". Just put the two pieces across from each other and not flipped ( color on f face the same) And hold the cube so that one edge piece is on the left side and the other on the right. doesn't matter if their on the top middle layer or the bottom. Then do a u' (turn the top two layers together) and do the edge flip alg (R,U,R',F,R',F',R) and u (top two faces together) to solve the pair. This will solve the last two pairs together. This is a great 4x4 tutorial Just ignore the edge pairing part its a little confusing. ( https://youtu.be/vArGJLLdWh8 )
