I have recently bought a rubik's magic (Although I chose the 1-3 months shipping on rubiks.com so i've recently received it)

But would restringing it improve the performace.

Please forgive me if it's a dumb question

Mine does. But that's because it has 4 tight strings, 10 loose strings, and 2 homemade strings. And those strings are strategically placed around the weakest and strongest points on the Magic so it never breaks and it's pretty flexible.

Nah, it should be fine the way it is.

Eventually though, you'll break it and need to restring it anyway.

To restring my magic, I basically use the method described here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i3c2ggjQQQ

The only difference is that I don't use that method to pull the string over the corner. The way I do it it doesn't involve stretching it so much. But this is fine.

Rubik's string is pretty tough, but fish line string is...thinner? So it might help. But it isn't as strong if you handle it like the Hulk.
Wanna know what I did? I stuck the nozzle of silicone spray into a gap and sprayed. Believe me, it helped. Although it looks like ejaculation on it now -____-. But There's almost no clicking in it anymore.

i don't know if you're rubik's magic is like this, but my strings were a line attached together with this metal clip, and the way i got it, the clips kept getting near the edge and snapping off, and i ended up restringing my magic. and it helped a lot, at one point i was averaging sub 1.5 seconds. but now, one string broke again, and i'm too lazy to fix it :D
