Do you solve it the same way every time?

I mean if you were given a scramble and had to do the same scramble over and over, would you follow the exact same moves every time? If you randomly got the same next week would you do it the same again? Does everybody who learns the canonical OLL/PLL algorithms do exactly the same moves?

Or is it always different, depends on faces you choose, patterns you see, or what?

While I'm asking, do people spin the last layer to your preferred orientation, or do they know the algs to do regardless of orientation?

Just curious.

I might see a different cross solution on subsequent times, which would change the whole solve after that. Or even if I did the same cross, there is a good chance I might do the f2l differently, because I find the pair in a different order.

Depends. If I got it twice the same day, most likely the same solution. But in a week or two, my blockbuilding would change quite a bit, so it would probably be a different solution.

Probably same. I always do blue-cross first, then I choose CE pairs based on ease and where I see them first. My PLL/OLL are always the same algorithm for each case, so it would only depend on seeing the CE pairs in the same order each time.

probably very different. Even when I try scrambles, I would often notice stuff that I haven't noticed before and that will affect my solution. It depends on whether I "see" it or not.

I would first try the most obvious starts, then weirder stuff until I get a significantly shorter and faster solution. In other words, this would be something intermediate between speed and FMC.
