Has anyone tried to machine cubies or cores out of delrin? If not I will give it a try as I have access to a machine shop. I'm guessing it would be 2-3 times as heavy as a DIY but it would never need lubrication
and I'm thinking I might like the feeling of a heavy cube. The layers would feel to have some inertia which would be very interesting for speed cubing. You would be able to make shorter more efficient finger motions since the inertial forces would dominate the friction through turns. I wonder if gyroscopic effects would come into play hehe.
