I went on dealextreme today and saw that they have a cheap megaminx. If anyone bought this megaminx can you please tell me if its good. I heard its a PVC megaminx.

Its a PVC minx (possibly a clone of the Edison minx). It is very stiff at first, but if you loosen the screws and lube it, it will be much better. Also, you will have to change the screws and springs eventually because the screws of the minx are very small and will loosen by themselves. Changing the hardware will make it cut corners better, pop less, and turn faster. The stickers are crap, so buy Cubesmith stickers, too. The minx also has a crispy feel when turning.

I had 3 of these and I recommend it.

Mine really sucked out of the box; stickers were horrible, had to use the palm of my hand to turn it, etc. When I adjusted the tension one of the screws stripped immediately and I had to superglue it back in

With that said, after lube, fixing the tension and screws, and getting some Cubesmith stickers, it will be a good minx.

I've had no problems with it, it was ok right out of the bow, then i lubed it and it got a little bit better, I have not adjusted the tension. I got no problems with this megaminx so far. So I recommend it.

If you're talking about the $7.20 DX megaminx (SKU 16334) then it's a good PVC minx almost exactly the same as a puzl.co.uk megaminx but without the nice lexan tiles. I recommend dismantle, sand, lube, adjust screws (add threadlock too or you might get a nasty surprise!) and eventually replace the horrible stickers with CubeSmith ones ($3.50) using a good well-recognised colour scheme. Arrival time to UK was about 12 days from order - YMMV.
