I found that the stock Dayan 2x2 new plastic springs were super strong and really inhibited the performance of the cube. I tried a few different spring sets, but oddly enough, the springs in the YJ Guanlong were the perfect strength for the Dayan 2x2. With these springs, the cube corner cuts nearly 45 degrees, and hasn't popped for me (although I did get an internal pop when I was testing the corner cutting). The turning is fast, light, and smooth, which all work well for my turning style.
