I'm thinking of making some 3x3x3 cubes with custom colour schemes, just for fun, not for speed solving. Here's the ideas -

Red Scale Cube - Red, Pink, Lavender, Fluorescent Pink, Purple and Fuschia

Marine Scale Cube - Blue, Aqua, Green, Purple, Chrome & Gold

I kinda stole these ideas from this guy's collection of cubes >

and also a 3-colour layer cube with Red, Blue and White, like the one here >

the last one I got the idea from Ton's section on speedcubing.com

To make these, I'm thinking of getting three type As from c4u and the stickers from cubesmith.

what do you think of this and has anyone got any cubes with custom schemes?

I also want to make a siamese cube at some point as well as they look quite easy to make.

There's always the greyscale cube (sold as the Rubik's Icon cube, but you can make your own). I also have stickers for a pastel cube - pink, lavender, aqua, light purple, chrome gold and silver - inspired by a cube that I had to scramble at a competition once (the two reflective faces confused me and it was really annoying to check the scramble).

I noticed that Cubesmith started selling different colored chrome stickers too, so you can have a shiny metallic cube.

I actually already have a full set of chrome stickers (I needed to bump my last order up to $15 for free p&p) but I haven't applied them to a cube. I was also thinking the chrome ones would look really cool on a chrome cube, so I'm gonna hang onto those.

about the marine scale, I could ditch the shiny for some other colours that might look better.

instead of getting the greyscale stickers, I was just gonna buy the rubik's icon anyway, I like the box it comes in.
