Hey guys/gals,

I am ( obviously) new to the site. I have been cubing for two years. This is the third hobby I have taken up: the first being reading, the second playing chess.

For the 3x3 I currently use : all of the plls ( 21) and about half of the olls ( 30). My f2l is intuitive + 14 algs ( where the corner or edge is already inserted ) . I use a silicone spray lubricated store bought Rubik's Brand.

For the 2x2 ( lan lan), which I have been using for less than a week, I use Ortega.

For 4x4 ( lan lan), I use reduction.

Average Times

2x2: 12 seconds
3x3: 30 seconds ( 27-34 in a series of twelve solves is common)
4x4: I don't know

Best Times

2x2: 5-6 seconds
3x3: 22.79
4x4: under 3 minutes

Personal info: typical kid who fills his schedule with AP/Honors and has goals of success and happiness. Best cuber @ my school, doesn't say much but am still semi-proud.

Cubing goals: get a 20 second avg for 3x3 within the next 6 months , under 9 seconds for 2x2 within the next month, and get a 2 minute average for the 4x4 within 6 months.

Thank you for taking the time to read this (^_^)

Welcome to the forums! I know a little bit about 4x4, so here are some tips. First, learn and start practicing double-pairing for edges, where you get two edges at a time. Secondly, get a Ghosthand II 4x4. It's cheap and very fast, and you do not need to do anything to it.

EDIT: I forgot to say that for buying cubes, the only place that I buy is at CubeDepot. They have a huge selection and shipping is always fast and reliable.
