My ChinaMinx is driving me nuts! I've sanded down the bumps and loosened the screws 180 degrees. And now, It's worse than it was before. Os there anything that I can do to make it better. And I can't buy a new megaminx.

I've looked everywhere for this but all I can find is what I've already done.

People say to take out the springs but I found that to be too loose. I cut the springs in half and it's a lot better.

You don't have to cut the springs or sand the bumps (for that, it's too late...), or anything.
Just use it, maybe lube it, and it will be good.

Worse in what sense? Does it lock up more? Or is it perhaps popping more?

Sanding the sharp edges that would otherwise cause lockups (as per Stefan's Megaminx page) can only improve things unless you really overdo it! :)

The loosening of the screws: 180 degrees sounds a bit arbitrary - surely it depends how they were before you adjusted them! The important thing to bear in mind when adjusting the centres on a Megaminx is that they need to be evenly adjusted. The faces are pulling inwards onto the running surfaces of the edges and corner pieces at odd angles! With unevenly adjusted screws I find that a Megaminx will pop more often. One exception might be if you have a preferred last layer which you might want to run looser (I've had varying success with this idea!). I've seriously considered (but stopped short of) using feeler gauges to set the centres :D
