buying a 7x7x7 and a 6x6x6

Hello,

I am in the market for a 6x6x6 and a 7x7x7 cube. I have been checking the ones available at ebay and I also contacted a couple of other people who sell them and I just wanted to get a feeling about the prices these cubes should sell for.

I know the v cube for the 6x6x6 or 7x7x7 on ebay are in the price range of 80-130 USD. One of my contacts said he would sell if for much cheaper but I am guessing the quality is not a v cube ( I am assuming there is a chinese version). If some one could confirm this, that would be appreciated it. And if a chinese cheap version exists, I would appreciate any feedback regarding the quality and the expected fair price to buy them.

There is a cheap Chinese copy of the 7x7. I would suggest not buying it, not because it is low quality (as I have really no idea about the quality) but because it would take profits from the true inventor (P. Verdes) who has gone to a lot of trouble to secure the intellectual rights on his mechanism, and has a patent pending in China.

As far as getting products cheap, I think DealExtreme has pretty good prices for the 6x6 and 7x7 (and free shipping). From what I have heard they get the cubes direct from V-cubes but without boxes, so they can save significant money on shipping costs.

If you buy the 2 together, it's cheaper on V-Cubes than on DX, and if you buy the collection it's only like $10 more with shipping than on DX V 6 and 7.
