BMLL Faster

Okay, so as some of you may be aware, I still use BMLL, because I don't want to memorize OLL and PLL. Anyway, in case you want to decrease your speeds and you still use BMLL, I recommend a little short cut or finger trick friendly trick for the LL. So, after you organize the corners into the right spot it is time for you two solve those corners. Instead of doing the ol' R'D'RD, flip the cube entirely upside down and solve corners using RUR'U'.

BTW, I want to take the credit when everyone does this for a faster BMLL.

I don't think thats a completely unique idea. I did that from time to time when I used the beginners method, and If I stayed with the beginners method I would have switched completely. It's not that hard to figure out you can flip the cube over to make it easier.

Well, why do I still see kids who use Fridrich F2L but use BMLL-slow way? Exactly?

Because they either prefer it that way or or haven't realized yet what they will inevitably eventually realize- that the R'D'RD is basically just an upside down sexy move. Who does fridrich F2L with that kind of LL anyway, just learn the algs.

But a disadvantage is that it is harder to see what you are doing.
Also, if you learn D'R'DR and URU'R', you can cut down on the number of moves. eg (R'D'RD) 4 times is the same as (D'R'DR) twice.

I usually teach beginners, a variation of this alg, depending on how they solve the corners in the first layer step..(though telling them to use its inverse alongwith it, would probably make it a bit faster, as used in CO algs).

For me, at least switching to {R,U}'s for Corner orientation when using beginner's is definitely faster even accounting for the rotation time, because {R,D}'s are very slow..

PS: What does BM stand for in "BMLL"?
