Premise:

For 15+ cube attempts, there is a sole method of memorization, using memory loci and store them into rooms, game maps or streets.
There are various memo and review systems that top MBLDers try to install depending upon their 1 hour time management.

My problem:
  1. I wanted to discuss a concept that I felt was occurring for me during the memo and review phases.
  2. It requires discipline and focus to maintain our attention to the current cube under memo and review.
  3. When we are towards the end of the memo phase, this becomes harder to do (atleast for me).
  4. There are just flashes of memo strings from previous cubes that keep looping in my brain.

Questions:

How do we attenuate our attention so that we can focus more towards end of the memo (build BLD stamina maybe?)
During exec, if we recall cubes of future cubes in the pack or a partially forgotten cube kept aside, how do we control that?
I may have follow-up questions according to how the discussion goes.

I think it is not a problem that focus might decline the closer to the end of memo you get. First of all, the decline shouldn't be astronomical, considering memo often takes 'only' around 40 minutes. I feel like with a little multi experience, you can definitely focus for 40 minutes. Don't forget, you have another 20 minutes of exec left, during which focus is not less important!

Then there is the factor that the last cubes you memorize, are the first cubes you solve. If not, you should probably change that, as it allows you to store these cubes in short-term memory. This generally requires less focus than storing cubes in long-term memory. So, although you probably have less focus at the final bit of memo, you also don't need as much focus for it.

If you really want to practice your focus, it is advisable to do 2 hour MBLD attempts every now and then. This makes 1 hour attempts feel so much easier, and if you feel at ease, focus comes more naturally. (Haven't done it myself, but I have done a 2-7BLD relay attempt, which took 2 hours)
