hello!

I've been worried that certain parts of my solves are taking too long and that as a whole it doesn't 'balance' properly & this is holding me back.
I've just done 6 solves and recorded the times it takes for various parts. I think the times have come up a little faster than i'm averaging but i'm putting that doen to stopping mid solve to time the next part. I'm currently averaging about 32 seconds over 5 solves. Oh, i'm currently doing 2 look PLL and I know 16/21 Pll, so 1.5look PLL.

could you lovely people have a look and tell me if things look about right for a breakdown.

cross - 4.63
f2l - 13.53
ll - 11.28
total = 29.41
---
cross - 6
f2l - 12
ll - 10.96
total = 28.96
---
cross - 2.69
f2l - 13.43
ll - 7.84 (pll skip)
total = 23.96
---
cross - 6.34
f2l - 17.88
ll - 12.03
total = 36.25
---
cross - 7.16
f2l - 10.86
ll - 8.69
toal = 26.71
---
cross - 3.46
f2l - 12.91
ll - 13.41
total = 29.78

thankyou!

Your cross times seem to be really long, spend more time on pre-planning your first few moves. F2L's not that bad, but you could really improve your last layer, not sure if it's the OLL or PLL, but judging by your one solve with the PLL skip, your problem seems to be in the OLL. So I'd work on OLL and Cross.

i've just been trying a few more crosses and i seem to be around the 4-6 second area, i'll work on it more and see if i can take a second of that or so. I've realised that while i find it easy to plan say.. 2 centres, i loose track of the other 2 when placing them and then waste the time placing them.

i'll need to work on my execution time for oll, i'm using 2 look so it feels like it takes ages having to make a cross then orient but hopefully i can take some time off there too.
