Well I finally decided to kill my PURE store bought because the pieces are by FAR the best IMO but the core sucks. so after screwing around, I've come up with this:

Pokemon style:

PwnageCube@CRC silicon
Jolly nature
EV's: 252 SPD/ 252 ATK/ 6 DEF
Type D corners
Type A core
Type D centres+insides
Storebought edges

Cubing Style:

You need 3 cubes:
Storebought
Type A (or just buy core)
Type D

Then pretty much just follow the instructions in the pokemon thing and Wa-la!!! Fast great, for PLL and rearly POPing cube.

Here's some Stats on it:
Pro's

-Turns super fast and has the feel of a D.
-Barely ever POP's
-Doesn't rattle

Cons

-Can only cut corners at a 25 degree angle (pro for me though, my style :p)
and that pretty much it...

PS: Does anyone here play competitive pokemon?
If you do, I'll SMASH you down on shoddy :p

Wow, this is actually an amazing Hybrid. I just gave it a shot. It seems like the Storebought edges are slightly smaller than Type D edges, so i'll need to adjust the tension slightly on the cube, but it really feels amazing. Thanks!

Well, i've done about 150 solves with this cube, and it really is amazing. It may just become my main cube.

I must disagree with the point about the rattling though. Because the storebought edges are slightly smaller, the cube rattles like mad. If you just hold it still and shake it you can here it rattling. It's not a problem though, i don't care about rattling.

See people, one satisfied customer :):p:D ----lots of smilies :p
:P

I assume you mean old type D centers/screws/springs as well, not the new ones.
Yes, definitely. The new Type D screws are really crap. They will still do the trick, if you can get them to stop undoing themselves, but if you have an old Type D, use that one.

how much better is it???? I like my type d, but i hate the unscrewing problem, even tho i kno how 2 fix it. Ill probably get another type d (black one) from 9spuzzles, hoping i get the old screws, then use the edge cubies from my broken store bought. I hope this is a good cube.

I just tried out the hybrid, I like it, but I was wondering if I did something wrong because my corners rattle around like crazy. Not that big of a deal to me because it's still an awesome cube xD. I'll try to post a video up on youtube about this.

Dude, Luke. You never told me you were into competitive Pokemon...
I'm crap and I can't even get a solid team together to save my life, but I like learning about different strategies and Pokemon teams from other people.

Also, I might be putting an order down soon for cubes and stuff, so I might get to try out your wonder cube ^^
You wanna trade some pens for cube? :P

You know where to find me.

One quick question. I'm trying to build this cube but it turned out really really nasty and I think it maybe something to do with my screws.. I don't have the old D screws, but I do have the old type A ones. I tried the old type A ones (because after just about an hour of cubing with my new type D (with new type D screws) a whole centre piece fell off) but my old type A screws no little washer, so this hybrid isn't sprung at all. I wondered if I could make this hybrid nice by cracking into a different cube (my A II perhaps) and using the little washers from that, or if my problem is completely unrelated to that.
Thanks, Chukk :)
