Hey Everybody

Ive noticed that during cubing when solving the top cross sometimes there is no L or Bar/Line there's only the dot and a couple of corner pieces to fix this all i do is the algorithm for the Line and that will get me to the cross but that takes about 2 more seconds and 2 seconds can cost you so i was wondering if there is an algorithm to get it to the cross.

You can do any of the 'dot' OLL cases. Any of them will orient all the edges.

There is the dot sune, which I like. r' R2 U R' U r U2 r' U M'.
There is also the dot H, which I also like. R U2 R2 F R F' U2 R' F R F'.

Sure, just rotate the cube 180 degrees (or do a U2, whichever's faster for you) and replace all the F turns in F R U R' U' F' with fs (that is, double layer turns).

Do F R U R' U F. AUF until you have the L, then do F R U R' U' R U R' U.

If you bother learning this, why not just learn the full OLL for all the 'dot' cases.

It is not really worth finding algs to turn a 3-look dot case into a 2-look dot->cross->corner OLL case.

Maby he still uses a beginners method where OLL is not a step, the last layer for him may consist of:
1. Orientate cross
2. Permute cross
3. Position corners
4. Orientate corners

Forget the cross, just solve the dam thing.

R U2 R2' F R F' U2 R' F R F' or

F R U R' U' F' f R U R' U' f' depending on dot type.
