I'm trying to learn how to use Acube, but... it's less than user friendly.

I was hoping to try and find some other N perms, because I don't like any of the ones in the wiki. I got so far as understanding how to input the cube state... but after that... it's kinda fuzzy.
Especially this part:
Code:
000 to 777
octal mask number of allowed turns bits corresponds to the UDFBLRESM pattern
To restrict the available layers that can be used in the solution
this number can be used. Each bit in the octal number corresponds
to one layer in this order: UDFBLRESM - the most significant bit
is on the left hand side. The binary number is written in octal
(8-based) number format (each bit triple corresponds to one octal
   digit 0..7).
Example: To find a solution that uses only U, L, R, and M turns
the binary mask is: 100 011 001. The corresponding octal number to be
   specified is 431.
Could someone explain that part in English, or give me some more examples?

So let's say you want to find an alg that only turns R, U, and F. The first digit is based on whether you allow U, D, or F turns, and you add 4, 2, and 1, respectively, if you allow each of those turns. So you add a 4 for the U and a 1 for the F, giving a 5.

Now look at the second digit, this is based on B, L, and R turns. You don't add 4 since you're not using B, you don't add 2 since you're not using L, but you add 1 since you're using R. So that digit is a 1.

The last one is E, S, and M turns. You're not allowing any, so that digit is a 0. So the turn mask is 510.

Does that make sense?

Ok, so they are split up into 3 groups, UDF, BLR, and ESM.
If I want the first one out of each group, I add a 4, the 2nd one, I add a 2, and the 3rd one, I add a 1? Alright got it.

Though I wonder why it couldn't just let you write the letter for the layers that you want >.>
