So I'm on a quest to learn full OLL by the end of the year and, to be honest, things aren't going too well. My first problem was not learning any new OLLs for about a month through laziness. That didn't help!
Anyhow, I was looking on the wiki for a good alg for OLL11:
and found r' R2 U R' U R U2 R' U M'.
Hmm, I thought, isn't this just M (R U R' U R U2 R') U M', or M (Sune) U M'. Yes, yes it is.
So I thought I'd play around with some other Sune/Antisune/Wide Sune algs with M/M' setups, and see what I could find. I found quite a few algs, most of which don't currently appear on the wiki, and are both uber-easy to learn, and uber-easy to execute, and thought I'd share some of my findings...
Not surprisingly, the mirror solves OLL 12 from this rotation:
M (L' U' L U' L' U2 L) U' M'
And the Anti-Sune inverses solve the kites (OLLs 9 and 10 respectively) from the following orientations:
M (R U2 R' U' R U' R') U' M'
and
M (L' U2 L U L' U L) U M'
There are equally friendly wide-sune algs for the other 2 small lightning bolt OLLs:
OLL 7
r U R' U R U2 r'
and it's mirror
OLL 8
l' U' L U' L' U2 l
Yes, I know these last two are very common algs, the point of this post is that these six OLLs can easily be learnt as a set, and don't actually require you to learn any new algs. All four small lightning bolt OLLs can be solved with Sune.
If (like me) you want to learn full OLL, here's six you can learn in a very short space of time.
Enjoy!

I'm 100% sure that there will be people out there already using some of these, so before people start replying "I've been using that alg for 100 years, you didn't find it", I don't claim to be the inventor of ANY of these algs, I'm just observing some cool algs I've found, and sharing them with the community on the offchance that someone who is struggling to learn OLL might find them useful, or that someone might prefer them to their existing algs.
posted this years ago. I know, I read it a while ago and it probably inspired some of my experimentation. I didn't refer to it during my experiments, but have done so now and found this:
7 - (RFWS)
8 - (RBWS)
11 - M (RFS) U M’
12 - M’ (RBS) U’ M
amongst 53 other algs which are variously useful, interesting, and obscure. But not easy to remember, or nicely grouped together like my little subset.
The point of that post is that all OLLs can be solved with Sune variants, however inefficient those variants might be. The point of my post, conversely, is that these algs are a nice small, neat group of OLLs that are easy to learn, efficient, and finger-trick friendly.
