6x6 middle centers

Hello,

I use a form of the cage method to solve the cubes. I have applied it to 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 and it works perfectly. I don't speed solve the cube, I just wanna solve it.

I start by permuting 2 opposite centers. Then I do top and bottom layers. I continue with all the middle edges to make the cage. Then I start making the center pieces from the four sides left using multiple times the Niklas commutator.

This is what I do for the Niklas. Let's say I solve the 4x4 cube, I have made the cage and I go for the final 4 center pieces in each of the 4 remaining sides. I hold the cube so I wanna change the Front sided up right corner with the Top up right. Then I do:

r U' l' U r' U' l U

This is the plan and I have adopted it to 3, 4 and 5 cubes. Just got my 6 and 7 cubes and I have a problem with the 6.

I made the cage easily. So the centers are 4x4 cubes that left to be done. Using the algorithm above I successfully do the outer ring of the center, meaning the top-bottom rows and the left-right columns in all sides. So I have left the 4 center pieces that make a 2x2 cubes.

Using the Niklas now is not working. So I thought to change the U with u. So, when I use the algorithm I wont turn as U and U' the first layer from the top but the second. Surprisingly the 4 cubes returned to the starting position after the rotation. Like I haven't done a thing. This is weird.

Hope you understood my situation and you don't have problems due to the lack of my English.

Hope someone can help me.

Thank you all.

John

yeah just imagine the outer-layers dont exist - what do u get? right a 4x4 and as u said u have no problem solving a 4x4.. shouldn't be too hard

Yes guys, you are right. I did it with your help.

I used the exact algorithm but instead of U I used both the up layers. This way I solved it like a 4x4 as you mentioned.

ok, ok, new stuff here from the video. Just saw it.

When I use the third layer from the right and the second from the left I change the second's layer cubes.

Just saw from your vid that when I use the third from the right and the third from the left I change the third's layer... Weird stuff happening on the cube.

Thanks for the video. New things to learn from this :)
