I'm a beginner to cubing in general (let alone speedcubing) and working on a 4x4x4 Rubik's Revenge. I'm following a solution where you reduce it to effectively be a 3x3x3 cube by grouping faces and edges together; unfortunately the algorithms I try either aren't working or I'm messing something up. I'm back to having the faces and edges grouped, so it should effectively be a 3x3x3, but I'm noticing something odd: all the corners seem to be flipped. If I try to get them in the right place with the right orientation, two colors need to be swapped. No amount of rotating the corners can fix this; I have no idea how it happened. Unless someone sabotaged my cube, I haven't disassembled it or done anything crazy like that that would have flipped the corners like this. Does anyone know how this could have happened to my cube and how I can fix it?
