Hi everyone, I've been cubing for about 2 months now. I attended my first competition on the weekend (Sydney Autumn 2012), which was great. I'm using CFOP with intuitive F2L. I know full PLL and about half the OLL's - including the one in this vid.

This solve is almost exactly on my average at the moment. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. :) (I know I should have put the cube down after inspection).

cool, so...
Inspect before starting the timer, you seemed to have inspected during the solving time (noticed coz you didn't press spacebar at the start)
Cross, try make sure everything is planned out during inspection (or just know where all pieces are and where they're going)
F2L, good that you insert to the back, try not rotating first and locating the pieces you plan to put in, you will never have to do a y2 rotation so try avoid those (every F2L case should only need one y or y' rotation)
Try learning full OLL, but do it at a consistent speed and make sure you remember (I remember learning it 2 OLLs per week)
Train your fingers to just go fast during OLL and PLL

He could've used cubetimer, on which you're just given a preset inspection time that you can't finish early :)
I think the best thing you can do here is just keep practising! With time, your algorithm executions should become more quick and fluent, and you'll make F2L pairs more efficiently. I think that you'll be able to cut plenty of time off with 2-3 months regular practise!
It's impressive that you've learnt so many OLL's and PLL's at this stage, I've gotten to sub-30 and I'm using full PLL but only a 2-look OLL :)

Thank you so much for the feedback :) It was on cubetimer, so the time started automatically. I'll do some slow practice on F2L minimisting rotations. I still find that I can at most pre-plan 3 cross pieces.
