3x3x3 tile size VS. 5x5x5 tile size?

I know nothing about cubes! But my husband loves them. He has a Professor's cube from Meffert's, but the tiles started falling off and he's lost a few. I know he would LOVE to have a replacement tile set for Christmas, but Meffert's says that it is out of stock of the 5x5x5 tile set. However, they do have a 3x3x3 tile set available.

So, my question is are the 3x3x3 tiles the same size as the 5x5x5 tiles? Could I buy several of the 3x3x3 sets and would they fit onto his 5x5x5 cube?

If not, is there any other place besides Meffert's where I could buy some replacement tiles?

Yes, you should definitely buy them from cubesmith. Their tiles are of a higher quality and generally last a lot longer than meffert's tiles.

No, they are not. 3x3 tiles are much bigger than 5x5 tiles.

The 3x3 tiles are not even remotely close to being able to fit on the 5x5.
