For the 3 look solve method.

when making the cross on the U-Face, is there and algorithm for making the cross when dealing with just the dot?
Or do u just combine the line alg and the L alg to make cross?

There are algs directly from the dot, but as far as I know none are any quicker or easier than combining the other two. Might as well cut down on the number of algorithms you need for now. :)

Just combine them:
(F R U R' U' F) (f R U R' U' f)
or
(F R U R' U' F) U2 (F U R U' R' F')
or
(F U R U' R' F') U/U' (F R U R' U' F')
etc.

You can orient all four edges on the top layer with this,

M' U M' U M' U M' U M U M U M U M U

but it's just as easy to do

F R U R' U' F' U2 F U R U' R' F' U2

The first alg makes no changes to edge permutation and corner orientation. The second orients the corners and cycles the edges.

By the way, what is the 3 look solve method?

Another option might be to learn the algorithms for those 2 cases that saves a little time and orients the last layer while combining the algorithms just make a cross then you do another algorithm to finish orienting. This is assuming you are learning Fridrich though.

EDIT: I just realized there are more than 2 algorithms for that. But I would learn all the ones with the dot along with the 7 with edges done. I currently use 3 look and that has helped me.

u could also try instead of inserting R U' R' style
u could try U F' L' U2 L F U' -> R U' R'
i find its faster if i already have a connected pair
