[WR] 16/16 MBLD - Muhammad Iril Khairul Anam

Poor Chuck - he's like "I can't believe it came out that bad!" I remember feeling a lot like that at the Ohio Open last year. Except I was only doing 10 cubes, not 15.

Exactly what I felt, Mike :(

And congratulations to Chuck for encouraging all these great multiBLD solvers. You should be very proud.

Oh yes, I AM very proud. :)

Is it just me or does everyone else not know about this awesome guy Iril until the past few days?

Iril is progressing so fast. On Indonesian Open (August 2009), he was the Multi BLD runner up & the 3x3x3 BLD 2nd runner up. But now he is far beyond me. I'm proud of him!

But the Indonesians have been posting their multi BLD vids here all the while so I was just wondering why I've never heard of Irill

Yes, Iril never makes video.

A week before Jakarta Open 2010 , Chuck said that he got no passion anymore with multi bld, he is a bit tired of multi bld and he was busy with interviews for his book from some place to another place and to another place in one day that was almost 2 month's ago. He is also busy with his last semester at Gajah Mada University, so no surprise if he was not so fit this time ;)

Yes, Maria. I was too tired and nervous from all the pressure I've got from everyone. I was so afraid to dissappoint you all. And I ended up with very very dissappointing result. :( I'm so sorry for those who've put faith on me.

Maybe I can still do better next time.

There you go!
It's still processed, quality may improve later on

Jani, thank you for being a great judge and making such a wonderful video. I think you're the best movie maker about cubing in Indonesia. Keep up the good work, but don't forget to practice your cubing skill too :D

Hmmm... I've learned so many lessons from just this one single event.

Please don't feel bad about this. It's a common problem for cubers who have a great moment - they feel too much pressure to do well again, and it stops being fun. And there's no reason for it to be that way. Just enjoy the great moments you've had in the past (your 11/11 was still totally amazing!), and keep cubing; eventually, you'll probably have another great moment - maybe several competitions from now, but it will probably happen.

There will always be someone saying something like "you've got to break the record this time!", but they don't really mean it that way. All they're really saying is, "I hope you will break the record", but they will still have respect for you even if you don't, because you've already done something spectacular in the past. Those who have never been in that position don't realize how much it feels like pressure when they do this - they don't realize what they're doing to you.

I'm a little afraid Feliks is quitting because he sees this effect coming. He broke the 3x3x3 average record by almost a second - how can he ever top that? I just hope he realizes that he doesn't have to - people will love watching him cube regardless of whether or not he breaks another record. And the same goes for you too, Chuck!

You are soooo right. I wonder what the WR will be in like 1 or 2 years.
But even if the rules changed (1 h time limit), i still love to do HUUUGE amounts of cubes, even if i cant do it in competition because noone could do 40 cubes in sub 1 hour. But i love to challenge my memory:)
