one year cubing tips

Hey Speedcubers, I was happy to find out today is the day i celebrate one year of cubing. So now that im not so new in cubing,is there anything I must learn like a new method or whatever.Right now many of my friends are telling me to move on t the Roux method.Im not sure if i should right now...
