feliks, sat down to read the heraldsun today, get about 1/3 the way through and see your mug there :P Well done, I hope this brings some more attention to an otherwise over looked hobby/sport in Australia. I have no idea how your recognition is so good, its scary! You must have heaps of...

If I didnt sign up... am I still able to come a long on the day to spectate and meet some of you guys?

Stupid average of 12 is killing me. Cannot get sub 20. Always 20.xx. Got 18.99 average of 5 today then the solves after that were all like 20.xx. Avareage 20.42 :(

Pwned, they should clearly have a rule saying that only people with an IQ of 10+ can enter. Edit: Just did 15 - 20 solves, first time in a long time really (been busy for the last 2 months). Couple of sub 20 solves with the rest being > 25s

Hey chumps... Was just about to sign up but thought I should check the regulations incase there was something like you have to be this tall or have to stand on one foot, hop and sing the alphabet backwards... I noticed that there is a rule that your cube must have 1 tile in the centre...

20 second average, Full PLL and nearly 40 OLLs.

How very right you are, the funny thing is I was looking at my cube with that case as a typed it... lol :( dada - I see that the last U' is redundant but 99/100 times I do it out of instinct :( But yeah, it is frustrating to see videos and people talk about tricks as if everyone knows...

The song was Undisclosed Desires by Muse. Nice average btw!

Worked fine for me. In that video it has links to other videos with other tricks. Going slow and looking a head is not the only way to speed up. Watch other F2L videos and you will pick up tricks to doing certain pairs easier. For example, it was only about a month ago that I picked up...

Did my best solve yesterday (11.90) and best average of 5 (19.xx) :)

Jnetcube gave me this: L' B R2 F L2 B' F' L2 B D B2 R' B2 U2 R' U2 F2 U L2 R F' L2 U' F2 D2 5 move cross followed by the easiest F2L I have ever seen with a PLL skip after one of the shortest OLLs.

Lol, owned! Funny thing is usually the 'store bought' cubes at Socrates were usually quite loose. I would often go in there and play with the cubes while the missus was doing something uninteresting if we were at a shopping centre.

Practice..? Also, if you havent already - watch some of the F2L videos on YouTube. I did this recently and while most of it was just stuff I already knew there were 3 or 4 tips/tricks that I didnt know about which save me heaps of time when those scenarios come up.

Hi Tyjet You should have a goal in mind, for some people its just to solve the cube for others its a specific time they want to solve it in. Personally when I started I just wanted to average less than 25 seconds and have a best solve of around 15 seconds. So for starters I would...

Is this different to the 'Melbourne Winter Open'? Any date is fine for me, as long as it doesnt clash with football I will go :)

Got enough cubes? I love that "What?!?!?" almost as if to say 'Is that broken?'! Man I wish my PLL skips were this fast, I had 6 PLL skips from about 60 or 70 solves yesterday and the best was only 16s.

I 'remember' new algs from repetition really, no way I can remember the actual individual moves but that is kind of irrelivant.

Interesting idea Tim, have you actually organised something or is this just an 'idea' at this stage.

Not everybody is some natural sub 10 wonder kid with the cube :P TBH I dont know how you guys can do so many cubes. I have 2x2,3x3 and 4x4 and I struggle with that!

Provided I am not say, dead, in jail, working etc... I will go to this one! I voted July 3rd / 4th. I have just picked up the cube again and have committed myself to learning the rest of OLL and shaving some time off my average...and well I have nothing else to do :(
