Why is execution done in the opposite order of memorization? As in memorizing corners, then edges, but solving edges first, or vice versa.

When solving OH with my left hand, I can't do R2 U, meaning I can't do the table-abuse-less clockwise U-Perm. When doing R2 (pinky flick, then ring finger flick) I have to set my index finger on the FUL corner for U afterwards, which is really slow. If I set it before, I can't do R2. I've tried...

Assuming you are referring to the ...R U R' F to F' R U' R part of the N Perm, I just regrip; I find that to be much faster than putting my hand in awkward positions to avoid regrips. As far as partial edge control is concerned, it's not worth it in the long run. (Once you know full OLL.)
