Return of practicube.com cube practice website

practicube.com I believe my site was down for a long time and without a certificate, I apologize. The good news is it is better now than ever. I have added a beginner method page, and a Beginner cross solving mode. I kept the Shortest cross mode, and added Advanced mode. There are other fixes...

Thanks for the feedback. Did you read the discussion about the scramble in this thread? Is there a reason you would prefer a non-abbreviated scramble? How would you feel about a having a preference setting that turned the scramble abbreviation off? I could do the same for the longer WCA...

Thanks, it is always encouraging to get positive feedback. I will also welcome constructive criticism for the new cross solve generator. I believe that if I added an "inspection" rotation at the beginning that would transpose the entire algorithm and cause the cross to be on the bottom at the...

I have now added a Cross section. Here is what it does. - Generate a scramble. - Calculate shortest cross for white, then yellow, then green, blue, red and orange. For each color, it only calculates the same number of moves as the previous or less; any solves with a higher number of moves...

    Practicube.com cube practice website

At long last I have added an F2L section to practicube.com! It features animated solves and a 3D cube representation that you can rotate. No Flash required, but it does require a modern browser. I am aware that there is not a practice-friendly way to visually find a specific case. I plan on...

Where are some of the strangest places you have solved a cube?

I have practiced OH while driving. Really dumb. Don't do this ever. Nothing bad happened to me, except for the shame and guilt of being so addicted to this hobby that it caused me to make such a poor decision. Would it be easier to ask who has NOT cubed on the toilet?

    Moyu DianMa cube

I just got mine in from thecubicle.us. After lubing and reassembling with uneven tensions, it cut 45 degrees on every side. So I figured I would try to tension it to corner cut as far as possible, which turned out to be about where the corner was at the edge of the center piece when looking at...

    Real Life Benefits of Speedsolving?

I realized that while I am at work, I typically scramble with my left and mouse with my right. Perhaps the scrambling helps keep up the dexterity in my left, but I definitely think that it comes from cubing in general. From playing piano, I have never been anywhere close to being evenly matched...

    Practicube.com cube practice website

Yes, I want to eventually add F2L and beginner's method. I am considering an OLS primer that presents a small subset of VLS and HLS that are fast and easy. I know the timer needs work. The big thing I want is to be able to access my times from any browser, which would require a login. I am...

    Celebrity/famous cubers

I googled Seth MacFarlane Rubik's cube, and it lead me on this journey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE7XyQrWDlg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYs_GCy9PRk

What size cube and help on becoming sub-40.

I got a 54.6mm ShuangRen and I was amazed at what a difference that small change in size makes. At first I would completely miss with my pinky when doing D rotations. It was not perfect for me, but could be for you. I agree that it is more about learning the solving methods. Intuitive F2L, 2...

The Moment You Found Your "Perfect" Cube

When I got my Weilong, I couldn't set it down. Eventually, I cleaned, re-stickered and re-lubed my Zanchi and it was back to being my main. Weilong is better for one hand because it is easier to control.

    Real Life Benefits of Speedsolving?

One thing I have noticed, is that I can solve one handed with my left or right somewhat equally. So, perhaps speed cubing promotes ambidexterity. I heard activities that promote ambidexterity can help with dyslexia.

Thanks for letting me know. I somehow forgot about that section when adding the notation popovers. The algorithms should show up now. I didn't find a problem with the images, although some of the cases don't have images yet. If none of them are showing, could you tell me what browser/OS you...

I put up links on the main page to badmephisto's site and a few others. I added the algorithms you suggested. Thanks again for the input. I liked the J(a) algorithm you provided so much that it is now listed first.

    Top 5 & worst 5 puzzles of 2013

I got my Moyu Weilong as a gift yesterday and I can't seem to set it down. Love it. There is a lot of negativity towards PanShi here. I have to say that it can be very fast. I have been using a lot to help train me against relying on corner cutting. It is not that it doesn't do corner...
