Yeah this is random
So I got pretty good linear FMC solves with (somewhat) easy lookahead like this
Heise (allowing for one mismatched 2*2 block)
ZBLS (looking up algsheet)
ZBLL (looking up algsheet)
Alright don't try this because I figure you have better things to do than memorizing 1000 algs...
Please ignore this thread until I delete this sentence
I figured that i'd never be able to systematically learn any method if i didn't write out and post my plans. So feel free to laugh if i'm behind schedule.
This thread isn't meant to be enjoyable to read.

Yeah you have a point, I'll ditch that
I may be using this a lot because there's no way I can memorize all 493 algs
I think EO+create pair/separated pair can reduce a lot of cases compared to ZBLS because it's essentially an unsolved state proplblem , and algs can be shortened because you can...
also some icons or syntax may look the same but are actually different if you use Chinese mode, so issues may occur even if you've spelled correctly, like commas and brackets
This is especially a nuisance when programming or using batchsolver
It's neat if there's no parity and one corner is solved
But parity cases are prety ugly for 3s ll. How about fish n chips or cll+1?
If theres no parity but theres a L4C case its even worse, feels like i lost to a cfop boi because i wanted to show off
I know this is stupid but is there an algset that goes from F2L-1 to EO-F2L-1 with a premade pair or a separated pair (SVLS) in U? I want to option select between WV/SV and phasing then ZZLL after this。
There're many reasons why this is a probably a bad for speedsolving (supposing this is its purpose)
1.During the second face, you've limited blockbuilding because there aren't free faces anymore
2.The best way to build a first block is either a Roux block or a Petrus block, because they 1. are...
Have a speedcubing ideal in mind that doesn't focus soley on speed, like minimal moves (like me) or max fluency or lookahead, whatever.
Speedcubing isn' just algs; the real fun begins when you solve quickly AND intuitively, like blockbuilding, and influence whenever the chance is ripe (like...
I tried to generate diag cp zblls by sifting through batch solver outputs, but I found it quite hard to find results with the patterns @xyzzy mentioned that were structured, easy to remember and beautiful.
I am curious how people managed to find such algs after browsing speedcube db. Here are...
I couldn't find the correct parameters to gen an alg set for this:
U Yellow R Red F Blue
State A: EO (Z), F2L-LXS(dFr unsolved), 1*1*2 yellow block anywhere (preferrably in U or RF)
State B: EO (Z), F2L-DFR unsolved, previous 1*1*2 in U
A to B
Preferrably RUrD gen, ≦7 STM. If Movecount exceeds...
Given a cube in a F2L-1 (LS in FR)state with an oriented 2*1*1 block on U layer, how many algs would it take to 1) solve FR edge AND 2) orient all adges wilst preserving the 2*1*1 block? States reached after mirrors and AUFs count as 1 alg.
Also, how many algs would be left if we allowed LS in...
Why is ZZLL phasing done with edges, not corners? I don't see why; if I count correctly there should be only 71 ZBLLs with diagonal corner swaps and 85 2GLLs adding to 156, less than ZZLL, recog should be the same and more chance of 2gen finishes
Thanks, great post
Are speed-optimized OR movecount-minimal ZBLLs with diag corner swaps more likely to be structured (like conjugates and combos as you mentioned)? Do they contain more easy-to-memorize OR short algs than other ZBLLs? If so, why?
Correct me if I'm wrong, there are only 76 diag...
More clearly defined as: within a given 1LLL alg set (one that end with a solved state and deal with permutation and orientation of LL pieces simultaneously), what do the shortest algs (arbitrarily defined as below the 33th percentile in movecount; need a better definition) have in common?
What...
