First off, start look ahead as soon as possible. Your F2L will get better the more you learn how to properly look ahead and also incorporate those new algorithms. Make sure to go back and learn more efficient algorithms whenever there is something that you may not like as much, But remember...

I wish I could go soon, but I don't have any comps anywhere close to me. I will definitely find a way to get there soon though. I haven't even been to a competition.
