I won!! I got stopped right when I got to corners on my last cube. I was like 20 seconds off of having a 12/13 I also got this as well 🥳

    Memorization Proposal

Letter pairs are important for recognizing parity, since you get an odd number of targets when you have parity. It is easier to recognize that you have an odd number if you end up with a single extra target with no pair at the end. Also by pairing the letters you are able to store 2 pieces in...

I finished my UFR 3-style corner comm sheet. I have been using about 25-50% comms for corners for the past month with the rest being done with Orozco. Now I can start working towards 100% 3-style for corners. I also finished a full Letter pair list for people. I feel like this has helped a lot...

I got this on my first attempt at 11 cubes. pretty exciting. 🥳 I felt really certain I had gone well over the hour, so I was pleasantly surprised when I took off the blindfold and saw I was only 15 seconds over. I was then surprised again to see that all the cubes were actually solved...

Does the WCA DNF solves because of youtube videos?

Delegates do have the right to deny an extra if they think you are trying to gain an unfair advantage from it. I agree that based on the wording of the first post it might have been malicious. However I usually don't like to assume the worst of people, so based on OP's 2nd post I assumed that...

Does the WCA DNF solves because of youtube videos?

It is not against the rules to wait for the judge to call 8 seconds or 12 seconds, since it is the responsibility of the judge to keep the stop watch running and callout the times. The only mistake was not asking for an extra right away. That way you get an extra solve that is legal and valid by...

I did a 10 multi cube attempt for the weekly forum comp I got 8/10 in 53:43. My 3BLD cube was off by three edges because for some reason I decided to do a pseudo swap when I don't normally do that for multi-blind. I then instinctively performed the wrong parity alg. I was really annoyed...

Does the WCA DNF solves because of youtube videos?

That would still be considered extra inspection time. your inspection ends when the timer starts. Otherwise you be able to stare at the the cube infinitely with your hands on the timer.

Does the WCA DNF solves because of youtube videos?

The WCA can disqualify results after a competition is over based on a YouTube video, especially if you were granted an unfair advantage over the rest of the competition. You should have addressed this problem with a delegate at the time in order to get an extra. Since the competition is already...

I got another 9/10. The 3BLD cube was off due to forgetting to execute a single letter pair. I feel like I am becoming much more consistent in both my memo and execution. This attempt was also much faster than my last 9/10, and I even squeezed in a extra half of a review. This means I might be...

    Weirdest WCA accounts

Gianfranco Huanqui does the same thing. At least I know he used to in 2017, and I assume he still does it now.

I got this 10:13 4BLD last night. It's only a little faster than the last one I posted, but this one used full center comms. Memo was very slow compared to my last 4BLD video, but the execution was a lot faster. I feel confident that I will reclaim sub-10 soon.

BLD Memorization - Why we forget

I'm not sure if these concepts apply to blind memo, but I believe based on spaced repetitions research, retention grows at roughly an exponential rate. Meaning that each review should multiply the base retention time by a given factor. The base retention and the multiplication factor vary from...

Chris Cabrera's Progression Thread || Trying to get good at BLD (particularly multi)

I competed at Southeast regionals today. Multi blind was the first event of the day and I managed to get 8/10 (~58:00), 4th place One cube off of podium. Both cubes were off by a of 3 cycle corners, I was pretty confident in my memo so I think I just got anxious and skipped a letter pair in...
