What if the tapering corner's cross section at the top is a triangle and when it reaches the bottom it is a circle? That would provide the easy reverse cutting of the stalk corners but retains the strengths of the corner piece. NOTE: I am not a very good modeler and the corner foot is too small.

If you compare CFOP to ZZ there is a bit worse with CFOP: ZZ just has none of those pesky rotations or weird OLLs. ZZ can also use Fish and Chips which is a LL method that averages 24 moves , compared to CFOP’s 30. So why do so many people use CFOP?
