4x4 Almost Beginner - Perfect Reduction or Struggle With Yau?

I am confused by your response. Do you mean that it is more efficient for 4x4 but not other cubes? Having that 2 minute time as a benchmark to look at is really helpful. Thank you Isaiah.

4x4 Almost Beginner - Perfect Reduction or Struggle With Yau?

I have picked up the cube again after a few months away. I can solve a 3x3 with two look decently well. I do regret not jumping to two look on the 3x3 sooner as I feel like it was hard for me to transition from the beginner algorithms I had learned originally. I've started playing with the 4x4...

[Help Thread] Is my cube / puzzle a dud?

I have a thunderclap v3 with magnets and it has started clicking really loudly but only in certain planes. For instance, depending on how it has been mixed R, F, U might not click but B will. As far as I can tell it is the white/blue/orange corner. It does not do this if I pull the piece out a...

    X Games One

I'm disappointed that I haven't been on the forum recently to catch this one it looks like a lot of fun. I'm sure I would have been eliminated first anyway. Thanks for taking the time to put these types of competitions together!

    Irotholoro's Progression Thread

I ordered cubes for my classroom in November and began learning over Thanksgiving break in order to teach my students the basics during the month of December. I am integrating solving cubes into my middle school curriculum. While I am a beginner myself it has been a lot of fun and I have had...

About "Race to Sub-X" Threads (+ List of Active Threads)

It looks like this hasn't been updated in a while. A lot of these are dead. I would love to see an updated version if there are threads still going. I found an active 3x3 that isn't listed: https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/race-to-sub-x-on-3x3-2022.86162/

[Member Intro] Trying to bring cubing to my students

Thanks for the video, if it explains what you are talking about then I am exactly on the right track doing the look ahead that I am as I am still doing the beginner method which I have completely memorized and don't have to think about the algorithms. Sounds like maybe we were just talking about...

Can you give justification for this? It seems odd to actively discourage working on a basic skill.

[Member Intro] Trying to bring cubing to my students

I was stuck at the 2:00 mark on 3x3 for about three weeks until I started looking ahead. Got 59 last night! I'm planning on working on just a few algorithms at a time while I work basic skills like finger tricks, inspection, and look ahead. I'm having a lot of fun and seeing a lot of improvement...
