    Sub-4 3x3 Average + Sub-Minute 7x7 Single

The procedure is complicated and time consuming. You need to build an air-tight chamber in which you suspend a plastic or wooden rod, and test that the rod cannot be rotated by any external means (magnets don't work, shaking the chamber doesn't work). Then you need to spend about 3 months...

    Sub-4 3x3 Average + Sub-Minute 7x7 Single

Nelson Mandela said 'Everything is always impossible until somebody does it.' It is possible to move objects just by thinking about them, although it is very difficult and most people do not have the patience to learn. Yet, it means that it is possible to solve a cube without even picking it...

What’s your best solve on beginners method?

The problem with this metric is a newbie using beginner's method would solve the cross, then each of the bottom corners one by one. An expert using beginner's method would block build the entire first layer in just a few moves and call it an XXXXcross. Not really the same method.

What’s your best solve on beginners method?

Didn't someone get sub 10's on beginner's method? Is it on youtube?

It's amazing he can turn so fast considering how enormous the cube is, in his hands.

    New 3x3x3 Method

How is this different from the pre-existing method of Roux with non-matching blocks...?

    WE NEED NEW METHODS

Beginner's LMCF uses about 21 algorithms and can achieve times close to 10 seconds if you have good TPS, which says a lot for so few algorithms.

WCA Should Add 1x1 As An Official Event

For 1x1 the goal should be to stop the timer at exactly 1.999 seconds, while blindfolded. Whoever gets closest wins.

[WR] Zayn Khanani 1.01s 2x2 average

Sorry I am out the loop on 2x2, do top solvers now know the full 614 algorithms of LS? Or just part of the set....

[WR] Zayn Khanani 1.01s 2x2 average

Does he use weird stuff like 2x2 LS or TCLL, TEG or LEG? Or just basic EG.

    Can everyone be sub 10?

I've been cubing for 32 years and I average 14 seconds. No, I do not think everyone can be sub-10. Even a person who practiced 8 hours per day for 5+ years might not reach sub-10 if their finger nerves were not trained at a young age to fire that way, and if their brain is not well suited for...

The 3x3 method that no one is talking about: High Effort, High Potential

I do like this method, but I do agree that the L5C recognition mid-solve is a problem. This is why I always go back to the WaterRoux variant, where top cubers can theoretically one-look first-block AND all the remaining corners. There are two paths to that: 1. Mentally solve FB, and the BDR...

Does anyone actually sell a tangible 1x1 cube for jokes?

    2x2x2 WR average

I average 4.5s on 2x2 and 13.5s on 3x3 with LMCF where the first step is solving the corners, so in LMCF it seems that the entire solve (3x3) takes three times the length of solving the corners (2x2). This is weird because it would imply a 1-second 2x2 expert could solve the 3x3 in 3 seconds...

[WR] Guanbo Wang 0.47 WR 2x2 Single

Just taking my hands off the stackmat, picking up the 2x2 and putting it back down and stopping the timer, with no moves, ends up around 0.50 seconds.... I assume it was a 4-move solution?

How many solves does it take to break the current 3x3 world record single?

If you do enough solves (millions) eventually you get so lucky that the cube almost solves itself and you get a 16-20 move solution, which even at low TPS is near the record. I assume the question is breaking the record 'at home', since you can't get millions of solves in competition. The next...

    best algorithm generator?

I'm skeptical. I'd like to see you or anyone re-generate (by computer) all 57 OLL's and 21 PLL's and maybe 50 ZBLL algorithms and if your utility can pick the well known best of these, then I'll believe it. If it is capable of even finding the best solution for half of those cases, I will be...

    best algorithm generator?

Most people use Cube Explorer, but the biggest shortcoming in the entire cubing community is the lack of any algorithm generator that can evaluate algorithms based on ergonomics, speed, and also that can inject wide moves and rotations into algorithms. There is no such utility, making algorithm...

[Help Thread] ZBLL Discussion and Help

That's the definition of method neutral-- you examine the cube during the inspection, and choose which method to start with, based on what the cube looks like, since each method will have a 'start' that is of a different difficulty. You choose the easiest start. I am saying that these three...
