    (Video tutorial) How to one-look a 2x2

I like your idea of csTimer generating the scramble, then inverting the insert to drill the case and then most of all, doing an Ao100 where the timer is only timing the inspection phase, and not the solve. So you can actually see numerical improvement which motivates practice. When only the...

Corners first 3x3 methods are looking better and better if corners can be solved sub-1 all the time.

    Human limit in speedcubing?

Doping in sports creates a different kind of sport. In sports like cycling, it is basically impossible to win without doping. When people get mad at Lance Armstrong for doping in cycling, they make the stupid comment that 'he only won because he doped.' Wrong. Everyone doped. And he still...

    Human limit in speedcubing?

When I set the world constant weight record at 82m in 2001 in Vancouver, I predicted constant weight records would rapidly advance to 125m and then progress would slow to a crawl. Incredibly, that is what happened. Eventually, I wrote a document on a new method that could allow 150m in...

    Human limit in speedcubing?

The weird thing is that a random state of a cube is a random state. By stating that you randomly scramble the cube via a PC, but then reject scrambles that can be solved in less the 'K' moves means the scrambles are no longer random. By this logic, the WCA is the one that decides the human...

Et tu Brutus? - SSRC Method Proposal

@Silky you are saying you ran a simulation to solve DR/DL while simultaneously orienting the remaining 6 edges and it averages 7.0 to 7.5 moves? With around 800 algorithms? That seems really low considering L5E, solving UL and orienting the remaining 4 edges averages around 8.0 moves.... If...

cubers who like to breath oxygen to keep living

Plants breathe carbon dioxide. Essential for all plant life on Earth. So if you love plants you should actually wish that CO2 goes up, not down, as plants would thrive at about 10 times more than the current CO2 level in the atmosphere. Oh wait, everyone is brainwashed into thinking CO2 is a...

Et tu Brutus? - SSRC Method Proposal

One comment I would add is that ordinary (old) LMCF averages around 42 moves with all the algorithms although ergonomics is poor, and thus TPS is not a match for more modern methods. When Zayn got the new 2x2 WR averaging under 10 moves, I was shocked, because LMCF at 42 moves assumes 12.9 for...

Et tu Brutus? - SSRC Method Proposal

I appreciate the direction the method is going. However, the difference versus Roux lies only in the single DR edge that is left unsolved during the second block, and then solved later in a more complex L7E. If on the other hand you leave out both the DL edge and the DR edge, then solve CLL...

    Different methods Forum Comp

I would use LMCF, Waterman, Roux, and WaterRoux. Do we need to post the video for it to count?

What is the best 3x3 method?

I can't believe Petrus is even on these lists anymore. There are so many newer faster & more modern alternative methods than Petrus.

[Member Intro] Chess player now taking on the cube!

Welcome beardedberskerkr. If you solve the cube with a pre-established method you'll find it takes a lot less brain power than chess; it would mostly be 'recognize the case, execute the algorithm.' The exception is if you get into multi-slotting which requires extremely fast & advanced...

Should I learn full algorithmic EG-2 or LEG-1

I agree that MANY of the LEG-1 algorithms are WAY better than the EG-1 versions. Plus LEG-1 has extra use in certain 3x3 methods, like LMCF-H and WaterRoux.

Should I learn full algorithmic EG-2 or LEG-1

I learned LEG1 before EG-2, but in general I don't recommend that path. I think people are missing the fact that the OP knows anti-CLL, so he can solve EG-2 cases in 1 look using that.

    Megaminx fmc 15 moves

Yes me too; solving a 12-sided puzzle in 15 moves, or about 1 move per slice. That would be like solving a 3x3 in 7 moves. Unlikely.

I assume coaching is only available to CFOP and Roux solvers. You might want to clarify that.

I think he is still using basic full EG? Vs. Zayn that uses triple the algorithms?
