How to turn faster without actually learning any new finger tricks

Here is another suggestion for the original poster: Practice on a non-magnetic (old-school) cube. Non-magnetic cubes are far less forgiving, and you need better mechanics to make the cube turn. If you are sloppy the old-school cube will lock up and you will immediately see where you are doing...

How to turn faster without actually learning any new finger tricks

Well the bottom line is the original poster asked for a method to increase TPS without learning new finger tricks and you were unable to come up with one. Well, everyone has their limits.

How to turn faster without actually learning any new finger tricks

False -- doing what I suggest will 100% guarantee that the OP's turning speed will improve-- sure, it might be with the wrong fingertricks and reinforce bad habits, BUT THE OP SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR A METHOD TO IMPROVED TURNING SPEED WITHOUT LEARNING NEW FINGERTRICKS, so why is everyone going...

Sub-10 With 10 Methods (Ethan Davis)

Great job. The world is still waiting for the first sub-10 Ao12 with corner's first.... Maybe that is your next challenge.

At what Rate is the Average Cuber Improving? (Google Form)

Your improvement rate is basically entirely proportional to (1) your willingness to do unpleasant drills, and (2) how many hours of those drills you are willing to do per day.

How to turn faster without actually learning any new finger tricks

Most cubers that are sub-20 already have pretty good finger tricks, but their TPS might still be really slow; it is when you already know all the finger tricks and find your TPS is still slow, that pure repetition with intensive concentration pays off.

How to turn faster without actually learning any new finger tricks

It's not a dumb question and I'm surprised no one has given the obvious answers. Start with sexy-move R U R' U'. Use a stackmat or csTimer and do 10 sexy moves in a row and then stop the timer (all 10, as part of the same timing sequence). It should only take a few seconds. Repeat this 100...

The New Method / Substep / Concept Idea Thread

I figure during separation of the L-M-R, with a little extra effort it should be possible to solve an EG1 'bar' on the L slice and R slice. If that counts as one step (inspection), then the possible remaining steps would be: [42] CLL (solves remaining top corners) ELL on the left side (normally...

The New Method / Substep / Concept Idea Thread

I need some help with a method idea. Roughly, imagine belt method but the cube is rotated so the 'belt' is the M-slice. Now, from a scrambled position, the first step is to put all L slice pieces into the L slice, all M slice pieces into the M slice. By default now the R slice only contains R...

    CMLL-Skip (1/161) method proposal

Steps 1 & 2 are a different way of starting WaterRoux, and from step 3 onwards you are just using WaterRoux. Having said that steps 1 & 2 are unique enough that you could consider it a different method.

[WR] Luke Garrett 3x3 OH WR average 7.72

Imagine if these guys could teleport back to Worlds 2015 and win 3x3 finals with one hand, vs. two handed solvers. Humiliating.

Averaging 25 seconds on 3x3 with CFOP, know 2 look OLL and PLL, as well as a few extra PLLs, and most F2L solutions. How to improve from here?

The main trick to get better (with any method...) is to stop doing random solves and instead drill each phase of the solve until you hit a target time for each phase. For CFOP you would be drilling just the cross until you can average X.XX for the cross, then drill all 42 F2L cases until you...

    Nigel Phang 0.90 WR2 2x2 average!

Congrats. Can someone tell me, are top 2x2 solvers able to predict the AUF? i.e. after inspection can they blind solve the cube and still get the AUF correct?

Yiheng Wang in Slow-Motion | TheCubicle Video

At 1.86 seconds into the solve he does an F move with his right middle finger? Never knew that was a thing unless doing an F2. Another interesting thing is he does only 7 turns in the first second, and then his TPS rises a lot for the rest of the solve.

Wanna get faster at 3x3/2x2? If so then you don’t want to miss out on this!

You probably should have mentioned that in the original post.

What is the next best method for speedsolving?

I couldn't care less what the method is called, rename it to whatever you want. I also don't care who invented whatever. I created LMCF but I don't care if you give me credit for it. Take all the credit yourself, I won't complain. The only thing that matters is we expand human potential in...
