yeah I like to do that when I get new puzzles, but then I learn the good method(s) that are out there for that puzzle so I can solve it for speed.

Yeah same. Except I never really got into speedsolving my other puzzles, so I never really learned better methods. For example on pyra I just randomly solve edges pretty much and on skoob I basically use intermediate except I just kinda randomly do sledges instead of actual algs.

I think I might like squan though, it seems fun since its not as simple as skoob and pyra, but not as long and repetitive as mega and big cubes, idk though.

It will be very hard to make a method for square-1 without any knowledge of how the puzzle works in general but if you want a tip or something regarding how to make your own method I will include it in a spoiler just in case you get stuck

Basically, most square-1 ep/eo algs have a trigger inside of them called M2 (0,-1 / 1,1 / -1,0) that swaps UF with DB and DF with UB like a 3x3 but since the sqaure-1 has an equator instead of centers, that's all it does. You can do M2 with corners as well but it's not nearly as versatile as with edges. Good Luck!
