I have a collection of old speedcubes. I like the idea of learning about and owning the cubes that were used back in the day and that speedcubers of that era started using—it's part of speedcubing history!
The first drawer. I’ve assembled many of these (back then, it was common to buy them as DIY kits).
From bottom to top and from left to right:
- Type A (2006) The first Chinese speedcube in history. By GuoJia
- Edison Cube (2007) from Korea
- Rubik’s.com DIY kit (2007)
- Type C (2007) by GuoBing
- Ghost Hand II (2010), a sub-brand of ShengShou
- DaYan 2 GuHong (2010)
- C4U with tiles (2010)
- C4U Gas-assisted (2010). It’s very heavy. Designed for training.
Yo those are awesome!
I tried looking for those DIY cubes when I was beginning but now I am more interested in speed and durability
Cool collection again bro!
Yeah! Thanks, bro! I'll show you more later.
The DIY ones are also durable and fast—it's the same product. The only thing is that now they sell them pre-assembled, so the DIY concept is gone. It used to give speedcubers a different experience, haha—maybe it's just marketing.
Sure, bro, get some rest!! Talk to you later!!
How was your day? It's late for you—get some rest.
I'm exhausted—it's so hot. For me, another day is starting today, and it's going to be really hot, too.
Good night, bro!
Yes! It's really good.
