Hi, cold in Alaska? Here finally spring is on its way.
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
It snowed a couple days ago but is warming up! What is the weather like where you are?
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten
It was very snowy and cold in January and February. Mars so so. But now
its sunny and nice.
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
what do you look forward to this summer?
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
bro you were born the SAME MONTH my mom was! (I and my sis are adopted into the most loving home)
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten
you mean like February or February 1950?
It's also the 50:th day of the year for me.

(How old are you?)

I liked the snow when I was young but nowadays I like the
summers more (not so cold all the time). Growing vegetables
and berries.

My adoptive mom was born in Feb 1950 and is cancer survivor for over a decade now, my adptive dad was born in 54. I am 18 years old! How are your vegies and berries doing?
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten

Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart

Jared Burkhart
Brooo when did you get into cubing? I love backstories
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten
Around 1980 I bought a cube as a christmas present to my wife.
We both enjoyed it very much. Speedcubing (as you can see from 2008berg04) 2008.
And you?
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
Thanks for asking! So my eldest brother got me interested in 2017, but I got hooked during lockdown (I hope you and your wife did well during that time) and been drilling hardcore since then. What is your favorite challenge?
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten
It definitely used to be 3-4-5 blind but not so clear any more.
Memory is not what it was ten years ago.
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
I cannot even do blind because I am halfway blind...I need to see the puzzle to solve it. You are cool bro!
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
MAT! MAT! (may I call you Mat?)I JUST SOLVED CROSS AND ONE F2L SLOT WITH MY EYES CLOSED TODAY!!!!!
MatsBergsten
MatsBergsten
Do you know what a mat is?
I realize it's probably rather common to call Matthew or Matteo for Mat. So ok.

Still nice to solve the cube partly with eyes closed. Is it part of an effort
to learn blind or to solve the cube faster? I don't think there are many
persons that can solve the cube blindfolded with CFOP, if any.
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
Yes, am trying bld with CFOP. Wanna be the 1st to know CFOP ZBLL BLD (I am ambitious) but dunno many techniques to these concepts at all. Any advice?
Jared Burkhart
Jared Burkhart
To bld I mean

It is often said that slow and steady solves prepare you for faster ones and helps look ahead. I think that works, but what helps me the most for regular drills is no inspection time. Your tps and look ahead are pressured into naturally increasing, giving you faster time when you go back to normal. I got 12 seconds today with regular approach
