Thanks. It was between 1970 and 1980 I bought one Rubik's cube…everyone in the classroom were crazy to make one face be completed.
Many years passed, and several years ago I noticed the existence of CFOP, and again decided to buy one. After having solved more than 100,000 times, I could become sub-20 with CFOP. Then I started to learn ZZ which I like more now.
If you are using EOLine+block-building (left side) instead of EOCross+F2L, the process may be taking a longer time.
As someone who only has a sub-20 (myself), I know it may seem strange for me to give advice to someone at a higher level, but I would recommend measuring the time it takes for each process and improving the areas that are taking longer time than your aim (weak points).
Thank you so much for your advice bro! Sorry I havent been online and didnt see your reply...I understand it seems weird for you when I ask for advice when Im faster than you..but the reality is that I'm not faster than you while using ZZ. Practicing ZZ could help me with faster and more efficient EOs for FMC..any tips for recognizing EO solutions quicker?
First, I am x2y, not color neutral, and basically start with yellow top & blue front. Second, my EO recognition is a little different from the general one.
My EO recognition:
I look for bad edges in the following order:
This is because I find it easier to connect to the next EO solution. However, the downside is that it takes longer to inspect than the general method. For me, this EO recognition takes about 4 seconds.
My EO solution is processed mechanically using simple algorithms. I made and memorized a list of bad edge patterns in the F, S, and B slices and the algorithms to use.
For example, if there are 4 bad edges in total, 3 in F, 1 in S, and 0 in B, I divided it into 2 patterns depending on whether the bad edge in S overlaps with those in F. In pattern 1, R' D' F or U L F' is used, and in pattern 2, D' F or L F' is used.
