Yeah, that was sad that not even Ianis, Janos or Christofor went there, but since worlds 2027 is in Europe, there might be a possibility that I go, I also hope that I'm going to Euros in 2026 and make skewb finals😎
What do you practice rn? And have you been to any comps, my last one was still in may 2024😭

Yeah Ianis would have done well at Worlds. I'm sure he will be there for 2027 though seeing it's Europe. Wishing you well on the skewb finals goal.
Right now I am starting to really practice seriously as I have been very busy the past couple of months. I am grinding 2x2-4x4, and once I get good at those I will improve at SQ-1. Trying to make Worlds 2027.

My last comp was just a few months ago in April or May, sometime around there. Also we have great cubers like Ianis, Janos, etc., but apart from the top 3-4, there aren't really that many great cubers.

Yea, a big reason is because most cubers in Romania are random kids that go to a comp and then never to be seen again

That's why I also want to get good at skewb at a world class level, after that that I want to practice a lot 3x3, 2x2 and maybe 4x4 and OH, also squan

That just makes it easier for us to become top cubers.

Just saw the thread about Euros being in the Netherlands, do we have a specific date for that yet?

I think yes

It's 16th-19th July 2026, a pretty good time, especially for me, it's 1 month after school ends and I have time all year to practice since it's going to be my first year in high school, so no exams or something like that to stop me

Thanks. If I can get near world class by then I’ll go, I’ve always wanted to visit the country anyway.

Yes, from what I know, it's a nice country with beautiful scenery, and they also have a path for bicycles everyone, which sounds very nice, also the people, maybe only slight thing is that they are the tallest people in the world by average, which is the opposite😅 (I'm 156cm at 15)

Yeah it sounds wonderful. As for your height, I’m sure you’ll grow, don’t worry about it. If we both end up going let’s make our goal to reach finals in at least one event.

For sure, 1 year ago at euros, you needed a sub 3.1 to make finals in skewb, which should be pretty doable for me, I think I can average sub 2.5 until then, in which event are your thinking to grind specifically?

You’ll definitely make it if you get a decent average, although keep in mind everyone keeps improving year over year. 3x3 and 2x2 mainly, at home I average ~8.3 on 3x3, and low 2 on 2x2, but the last few months I’ve mainly been averaging sub-2.
