if we're being honest the majority of Americans (which of course including adults) don't know a lot about politics at all

Anybody that blindly supports a candidate is the type of people I’m referring to. 99% of people think they know more than they actually do, but most people know to not talk about things unless they feel confident in their knowledge. Kid’s bar for that is much much lower than older people.

I hate the character limit

anyway, a continuation

I’m not saying that I’m smart, but there’s a reason I’m not talking about how the world’s gunna end or about “whinny liberals” or something

Also it's not something we have against kids or younger people, it's just that as you grow older you hopefully learn a lot more and take classes like US government, APUSH, (political) philosophy, etc. so you can critically think and understand who and what you're voting for. There's far too much partisan politics or blindly following a party and it's easy to fall into that especially if you're younger is the point.

Not to mention that 90% of the political news kids hear is from their parents or (if we’re gunna be honest) heavily biased online sources

And the other 10% is from their friends who got their news from their parents

actually 9%
and the 1% is a kid who grinds watching news and builds a fully-formed opinion
