I’d recommend trying other genres. You described almost exclusively rock and metal bands, so it makes sense that you wouldn’t particularity like pop then or now. There are still good artists/bands in other genres, some of them very popular

Yeah pop is absolute dogwater, I don't listen to music that much but there are plenty of genre's that have great songs (but not country)

For rock music I would say this is true. If you're saying that modern rock is high pitched generic trash, I agree with you there, but some alt rock is really nice (twenty one pilots).
I mostly listen to melodic rap and sometimes Eminem or NF or something. Basically all of the songs in my playlists are after 2005, and most are 2016 and after, but no pop songs after 2019 are in my playlists.
