Rubik's withdrew their blanket sponsorship for majors - unsurprising really, as I doubt they were making money from comps like Oceanics, SAC, or African champs

I think this is the crux of your problem with OP. Most cubers coming into 3BLD are already reasonably experienced with 3x3, and therefore will already know the algs required for OP, and will be able to intuitively learn the setup moves very easily. I've worked with a lot of people learning BLD...

Sharing here because honestly, this is different to all the other people who have tried crowdfunding in order to go to big comps. Tom's definitely a world class bigBLD solver, but he's nowhere near as well known as a lot of other world class people, and doesn't have any major sponsorship to pay...
