How about using the Hiragana script as lettering scheme?

As a Japanese learner, I was thinking about doing this. I didn't though, here's a couple reasons why. - For audio memo, each target would be a mora, which is less compact than combining 2 letters to make a syllable. - My Japanese vocabulary is bad, meaning kana pair images would be impossible...

    Random Scramble Generation

https://github.com/thewca/tnoodle/tree/master/tnoodle-android I haven't played around much with tnoodle since I don't like app development, but thrawst's recommendation in his US Nats seminar on making a cube timer is tnoodle for android apps. I know your class won't be able to tell the...

Bad habits and non-optimal ways to blindsolve worth preempting?

Switch to orozco after you get used to memo with OP. Orozco is great because it uses fantastic buffers (UF/UFR) and is easily expandable to full 3style. I am the only person I know who uses it as a main method, so HMU if you want help. I made a letter pair list and put all my cards into anki...

[Help Thread] Roux Discussion and Help

Might as well post here as well. I finally got the point where it feels the benefits of switching to Roux have paid off. I got a sub 14 ao50 and a PB OH single, 14.669, all with Roux. This all sprung off this post I made almost a year ago. Major shoutouts to TDM for keeping me motivated. My...

    Favorite PLL Algs

    Anything MU (U H and Z standard MU algs). Anything RUD (Aa Ab and E standard algs). Ga: R2 u R' U R' U' r U' R2 F' U F I execute that in a pretty similar way to the way Drew Brads executes it. You can never go wrong with standard Jb and T. V: z D' R2 D R2' U R' D' R U' R U R' D R U' I...

Block Keeper: Cross platform desktop timer

I'm kind of surprised I haven't thought of this that way actually. Having custom events is basically exactly what I proposed except you lose the organization of having, for example, CFOP and Roux grouped together under 3x3, in exchange for simplicity. I'm totally fine with that tradeoff.

Block Keeper: Cross platform desktop timer

I have a proposal relating to sessions. I thought I'd get this in while you're refactoring the code. I want my sessions to reset every day, but I also want to have separate sessions for different methods. I'm sure there are people who'd like to have different sessions for different cubes, a...

Block Keeper: Cross platform desktop timer

If you allow me to import my thousands of solves from prisma puzzle timer, I will switch to your timer. I really like the look and functionality of it.

Block Keeper: Cross platform desktop timer

I'd love to try this timer out, but it appears your website is down! I tried building it off the source on github, but I get errors when running "./start".

can anyone suggest improvements to my solution guide?

Step 1 is utterly pointless, it should be removed immediately. The implication that the cube is not worthy of being solved if it's not a speedcube that can cut 45 degrees is incredibly funny. The font sizes for step 1 and 2 are completely inconsistent with the rest of the guide. The section...

Rubik's Brand lawsuit against The Cubicle

I seriously doubt that one distributor losing a lawsuit would result in the death of every new cube.

    My cubing progress

I started cubing when I was 8 or 9. (I'm 16 now) I seriously doubt your parents would be against buying a speedcube. Budget speedcubes are less than 10 dollars, and I'm sure your parents are supportive of your cubing. Just plan what cube you want to buy, and ask them. What's the worst that...

    finding the best buffer

I haven't switched to 3style myself, but I have listened and read to many who have. At this point you have 2 possible future paths: 1. You "freestyle" the commutators, using whatever comes to your mind. This means that you never have to make a list or look at other lists. Eventually, you will...

    finding the best buffer

You have to remember, I think maybe a couple of people in the world do parity the way I described. Parity is no different from any other parity method, all parity is is solving the "extra" corner and edge targets. This can be done in so many ways, the way im describing being the most advanced...
