I'm not sure I get you here. Do times start to count less as time passes, or when new results come in? If they weigh only .25 after a year, it seems to be the former, and new results have no influence on that. Good point, I feel the same. However, would you want to see the best result in the...

BoX = Best of X (so you simply take the best of all X results) MoX = Mean of X (you add them all, and divide by X) AoX = Average of X (you add all but the best and worst, and divide by X-2)

I'm sure many of us agree that Kinchranks are a very good indicator of someone's capabilities, and measure all round ability better than, for instance, sum of ranks. For those that don't know (much) about Kinchranks, please see the original post by Daniel: http://www.kinch2002.com/kinchranks/...

Round 21 Goal: Sub-DNF 1. DNF - 2 flipped edges 2. DNF - 2 flipped edges 3. 5:38.40 4. DNF - Started doubting in the middle of executing a corner and couldn't recover 5. 4:14.03 6. DNF - Again doubt, this time middle of edge exec 7. DNF - twisted corners + 2 incorrect edge targets 8. DNF -...

Round 108 Ortega 1. 7.55 2. 7.23 3. 9.94 4. (6.52) 5. (13.10) 6. 10.77 7. 10.81 8. 6.63 9. 9.99 10. 8.67 11. 9.08 12. 8.13 8.88 Ao12 Mehh, was hoping sub-8 would be doable already :/

Round 43 sub 15 1. 21.26 2. (9.70) 3. (22.15) 4. 13.02 5. 17.03 6. 16.74 7. 11.57 8. 13.99 9. 17.25 10. 17.64 11. 11.85 12. 15.49 15.58 Ao12 Been ages since I practiced pyra, so thought I'd pick it up again (No clue how this Ao12 is better than my official Ao5 though...)

Round 206 Sub 25 - CFOP 1. 22.99 2. 28.74 3. 24.42 4. 27.58 5. 23.31 6. 24.88 7. 24.79 8. 23.61 9. 25.80 10. (28.96) 11. (21.94) 12. 26.47 25.26 Ao12 That was actually a lot closer than I would've expected beforehand :O

1) Magic hasn't been an event for a long time now :P 2) I doubt it... Way too far outside of the M25 :P

Also, one third of registrations so far are new competitors! :O

If you come to the Royal Festival Hall (Southbank, between Waterloo and Embankment), you'll quickly find a table with a number of cubers. No need to register beforehand or anything, just show up :)

I always forget to post here when we have an upcoming meet xD Next one: Saturday 17 June, Royal Festival Hall, London (Southbank)

This will never be a dead topic, as quality of judging is important to having a good comp. We may indeed be lucky that we have a good amount of experienced cubers vs. new competitors. However, my main point was that we have a system in place (not even written down afaik, it just grew that way...

Having read through all of the thread, there are some good points that have been made and some points that wouldn't make much difference in my opinion. Do we need better judges? Hard to tell, as 99% of all my comps are in the UK, so I don't have much material to compare with. However, quality...

It's not in the guidelines, and I don't know the backstory behind the wording of 5b2, but I'm 99% sure that that regulation was not written specifically for a corner twist. 5b2 does apply however when you have a pop, especially on bigger cubes. For instance: When you get a pop on 7x7 while...

Cheers! There are some really good pointers in there, thank you for that :) I'll defo have a look at re-inserting edges to influence orientation of LL instead of trying to do it purely with OLL and/or sunes. Block commutators may be a step to far for me at the moment, as this was only my second...
